NUconnextions, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 42-4882670) serving Gallatin and Sumner County, Tennessee.

Be the Voice on the Other End

When someone walks out of jail, the first call they make could change everything. Our volunteers make sure there's somebody there to answer.

NUconnextions is powered by people who show up. Every phone we place comes with a mentor's number programmed in — a real human being, ready to welcome someone home, invite them to a meeting, and walk with them through the first hard weeks. That mentor could be you.

Call Volunteer/Mentor

Take a newly released returning citizen's first call. Welcome them home, invite them to NA, AA, or Celebrate Recovery, and check in during their first weeks of freedom. Men mentor men, women mentor women. Training provided — the only requirement is a caring heart and lived understanding.

Phone Distribution Helper

Help prepare phones for handoff: programming mentor numbers, packing chargers and cases, and joining distribution days at release points and community partners across Gallatin and Sumner County.

Digital Literacy Tutor

Teach our Smartphone 101/201/301 courses — help someone send their first text, set up email, or apply for a job online. Patient teachers wanted; no tech degree required.

Community Outreach Volunteer

Spread the word at events, churches, and community gatherings. Share our mission, collect donated phones, and connect us with people who need us.

Social Media & Creative Volunteer

Help tell our story online — graphics, video, writing, and photography that show the world what second chances look like.
